Project based learning using one leg - of a used pair of jeans - for teaching the basics of grainline, cutting and sewing straight seams. Addressing two of the biggest hurdles in helping students learn confidence with sewing. Project can be used for FACS Exploration or CCA. Additional project included.
Supplies teachers must bring for this class: One leg of ADULT size jean (do not bring a lightweight denim), 1 - fat quarter, or 1/2 yd. (pillow backing), Sharpie, Contrasting thread, Scissors, Pins. 6-inch template (cardboard, acrylic, etc.)
